I'm Ingrid
I am an expressionist abstract artist based in beautiful B.C.Canada, working primarily in acrylic and mixed media. My practice began as a deeply personal response to the need for healing—a way to regulate my nervous system and give form to what I could not yet put into words.
Through a daily, intuitive art practice, I started translating energy and emotion into colour, texture, and movement. What began as a quiet act of self-support soon revealed itself as something more powerful: a process of alchemy. Each mark, layer, and gesture became a way to shift and soften what felt heavy, creating space for release, integration, and renewal.
My work is rooted in exploration rather than outcome. I am less interested in creating a finished “piece” and more drawn to the act of listening—responding to what arises in the moment without judgment or expectation. This approach allows the work to unfold organically, guided by instinct and sensation.
Lately, I have been exploring the idea of internal landscapes—places not found in the external world, but within. These are emotional terrains, energetic imprints, and subtle states of being that exist beneath the surface of language. Through abstraction, I attempt to make these invisible spaces felt and seen.
At its core, my work is an invitation: to slow down, to reconnect, and to remember the quiet wisdom held within the body.
I hope that in finding your piece here, you find your peace there.
